This is my Wiki for my time here at Mercer. I’ll start off with a little introduction of myself. I go by Les and use Lqube2000 as my computer identity. The L3 was derived from my initials (Leslie L Laurell) and I have used it for several years. The nick name was given to me by a former boss of mine and at first it got on my nerves. But when I needed a “computer handle” I thought it sounded cool. But I didn’t like the traditional way of spelling cube, so I went with a different version: qube. The 2000 portion was added on after I couldn’t use the lqube and I needed an alternative to keep my identity going. I could also abbreviate it with L32K, but I haven’t had a need to do that yet.
As I said in my ice breaker e-mail (which no one followed suit with) I am retired Air Force and starting out on a new career. I got my Computer Science degree in 1999 when most computer degrees were lumped into one category. I have been waiting for the opportunity to go back to school and get my Masters for a while. So thanks to Uncle Sam and the Post 9/11 GI Bill I can make it happen.
My goals are to use this degree to open doors so I can broaden my programming knowledge. I consider myself more of a hobbyist programmer instead of a career one. I plan on changing that in the near future. I would also like to teach intro programming classes. I broke my Wiki down into two major portions. Part one is for SSE 554 and Part two is for SSE 643. I am also going to Wiki out my Game Design Document (GDD) for SSE 643. I hope everyone has a great semester and fun coding!!
Welcome!
